...but the problem starts with the PRO and 7000, which both have USB ports.
We are better off telling it the way it is
i know that... but ..as a fast recognition of supported models...the USB is the common denominator...
as the Ultralite has the name Platinum Ultralite stamped on its face plate... and that creates some confusion... as there was a Platinum lite model...
see my point ...NUTZ?![]()

I do not condone the use right hand turns on an oval track
I bought it. It will pay itself off in 3 months. What is your beef? Your box paid for itself if it was up 6 months! Everything after that is GRAVY! No one said this hobby was FREE! And nothing lasts forever in the electronics world. The days of flashing your box with a bin and it works are OVER. They have been over since N3. This new technology will be much harder for the providers to defeat. It doesn't involve their equipment, and it involves the use actual Subs for the key. Now how can they tell who or where when they cant even tell how? The key is sent from somewhere in the us (could be moved at any time or more than one can be used), delivered to an off shore server (which can be located anywhere outside of US jurisdiction) and the data is SO SMALL that you could probably run it off of a dialup if you had the equipment to do so( An internal/external dialup modem and a computer with a NIC, and a cat5 cable. You could go online with the dialup and share the connection in the properties, then run a dhcp server on your computer to provide an IP to your WF and WaaLaa! It should work in theory. I'd ask if anyone has tried it, but with the proliferation of broadband and wireless networks it seems pretty unlikely that there are those who still use dialup.
Anyway, I think it is great that the SD channels on my VS9000 are working, and as a pragmatist I am setting up my external hard drive to record as much as possible before the next outage. If HD Channels do ever come, then that would be AWESOME.
set up a friend on the weekend with a Ultra and a WF all he has is dial up, used a cat5 cross over cable set network to share and that was all to it. He is now watching tv using dial up no problems

LMAO....Do some reading
Prine Fan..Thats the way the word goes around..Your up one day the next your down..It's a half an inch of water and ya think your gonna drown
WHY? I dont need a dialup connection. Maybe those with dialup will do some reading?
EDIT: Why didn't you just say dialup was viable and works? So I was actually RIGHT? Maybe a TAD late (like friggin MONTHS!!) :-)
Maybe the next time I'll be right about something that ISN'T already posted? You never know...
