are you for real right now? do you even read what you type? you won't invest in v.vs because they don't support your OLD plat and/or extreme but then you say you will buy one for your ultra. if you buy one for your ultra, is that not investing in v.vs even when you say it doesn't make "economic sense" for you. wow, see you're so busy biitching about no support for old stb's that you don't even notice you're contradicting yourself left, right and center. get over it buddy!!!

morning all
i bought my extreme back in late 06 i believe
i enjoyed lots of viewing for 3 years for my $110 investment
sure i would love to use it more but come on guys
$110 for years of service
where else are you gonna find that kind of price?
everything gets outdated sooner or later
if i was making stbs i sure would want to come out with new something every couple years so people will spend more money
or it would be like making a car that we could drive forever with no upkeep true?

Anyone ever hear of or remember the car called a TUCKER! This is JMO remind you but it sounds to me like some of you are saying that as poorer people, we dont deserve to be able to test and play around with in this field, and we all know that most of us rich or poor are out for free tv like it or not, I myself was out for both, And as for the computer comparison I have an older IBM that i can still get parts for and it still works! I understand the companies are out to make money and thats fine cuz everyone is other wise we wouldn't get up n go to work everyday,The biggest problem I have with the no supposrt situation is the fact that the companies kept selling the ones that now have no support like hot cakes and gave absolutely no warning, what about those peole that bought one of the unsupported a wwek ar maybe a month before they went down, I know thre was a disclaimer but hey we all know that if we speed or litter or drive without seatbelts that were gonna get a ticket, but we also all bitch n grip after weve done it and the cop says sign here please! I dont care how much service we've gotten out of them, someone who is capable should support them I mean if we have to take um and pay a little to have the processors changed or something they should support them if for nothing else just as a curtousey, so that when we can afford a new one or another one we'd be more likely to buy from those who have helped us even when they didnt have too! Yeah and granted we poor folks cant afford much but how much of the consumer population do we add up too! Yes i said poor again, i am poor and i dont care who likes it n who dont whether it be you all or the prez for that matter, it's who i am, some get good chances and some dont, you gotta remember who built that chair your sittin in. In finishing they should support all or none in my opinion!

You all need to stop whining... VS is out of business. Gone, history, try going to their site, it's NOT THERE.. This is a third party person putting this thing together so there is NO COMPANY that's deciding to offer support or not offer support, someone took a receiver brand that's out there where the company went out of business and decided to take the damn thing apart and see how they could make it work. If you all remember you purchased a FREE TO AIR receiver that a 3RD PARTY made software for not the manufacture, did the manufacture make money off that fact, of course they did and so would anyone else. Did the manufacture get busted for trying to hire out to break N3, yes he did in order to continue to make money, same as anyone else out there. No one said you would receive FreeTV for the rest of your units life. You purchased a FREE TO AIR receiver meant for FREE TO AIR TV and you were counting on 3rd parties making software for it. The WHOLE thing was a gamble, you knew that when you got into it and if you didn't then you sure should have done some research on it before buying it. I see NO THANKS for the 3rd party coders that kept your receiver receiving channels that you normally wouldn't have received till N3 came along. I see no thanks for the owner of the company that stuck his neck out to try and make it work for him and for YOU.... Now he pays the sacrifice in jail while all of you get go on with your life at a cost of a receiver. Give me a break.

What Tex Antoine stated is fact and the truth so why would you have to be a goofball to believe the truth?

Besides if a Co. doesn't make money they go out of busness and then nothing is supported that to me is bad for busness.
And the 3 units that are not supported have been discontinues for a long time now.There are no new units selling that are not supported they where all discontinued at least 1-2 years

Buddy, I also have the same feeling about the lack of support for the Plat,Extreme. This decision to exclude these models will cost them 100"s X1000"s of dollars in this economy.

I take it you and buddy007 are still useing your 1st computer you ever bought with windows 95 or 98 or 2000.It is just the way it is cars, pc's, tools, lawn mowers, sterios, vcr's, DVD players, ect. basicly everything wears out or becomes old and outdated leading to dropping of support its just the nature of the beast thats just life.If its cheaper for you to carry digital cable or a sat service and pay for everything you watch ppv,sport events, ect. noone is twisting your arms.
